Midnight Pirouette

This star and that are lighting canvas black
And sparkle at her indication,
Wisps like wind from the twist of her pirouette
That plays itself like an inspired piano
Pulling notes from the heartstrings in A Minor and
Wrapping themselves like blankets to her shoulders,
Her sovereign dance as perfect as the Pieta
As toes scrape to stir up moon dust into Strata.
Eyes and iris watch harmless Cumulus as they dissolve
To mackerel skies, midnights submissive moonlight
A trailing diminuendo to the azura suburbia,
Hyperion’s mirror reflection oblique to Mona Lisa
on a bewildered terra firma.
She stumbles into graceful imbroglios,
Her hair bouncing like her cautious feet as they dance,
Swan dancing to an intrinsic melody
as she savours applause from a foreboding forestis.

Waltz to Orion while she de cotes,
poised as though Helen of Troy were guiding ex nihilo.
Without lens flashes from new Canon’s
She flows clear, an untouched Tigris running through the cradle
That she rocks with humbling pliés,
Sedimentary free from the tumbled attrition of stone on stone
While fireflies crowd deposited infernus
And Hates lay dormant in the framework.

Symphonies play orchestral to her cambré
Towards a lonely Aurora Borealis,
Her longing to dance with someone
Quenched
by the rainbow kaleidoscope playing off her midnight pirouette.
It's been a while since I wrote something, and I'm kinda glad I like what I wrote this time around.

In case you're unsure of some of the terms, I'll leave you some definitions.

Pirouette: A full turn of the body on the point of the toe or the ball of the foot in ballet.
Pieta: Michelangelo's masterful 15th century sculpture of the Virgin Mary mourning over the body of Jesus.
Diminuendo: Gradually decreasing in volume; A Decrescendo.
Azura: A Medieval Latin word referring to the blue colour of the sky.
Hyperion: From Greek Methology, The god of the sun; in the later mythology identified with Apollo, and distinguished for his beauty; A Titan.
Imbrolgio: An embarassing situation.
Forestis: A latin word for outside, referring to what we call forests.
De Cote: A dancing term, meaning to move to the side.
Ex Nihilo: Latin, meaning "out of nothing."
Plie: A ballet movement in which the knees are bent while the back is held straight
Cambre: A bend from the waist in any direction, but usually forward or backward.

There you go, I hope that's helpful. Enjoy.
